Is Jay-Z Signing Trey Songz To Roc Nation?

Jay-Z is reportedly signing Trey Songz to his Roc Nation management label, the latest in a string of signings.
'Love Faces' singer Trey is currently being managed by Jay-Z's close friend and business partner Kevin Lyles, but sources say he is trying to poach the singer away.
MediaTakeOut reports that the hip-hop mogul has been in talks with Trey to sign with his lucrative management label also home to the likes of J. Cole, Rita Ora and Meek Mill.
According to the website, Jay is extremely close with Lyles, who was even considering asking Jay and his wife Beyonce to become godparents to his new baby.
Would Jay-Z really betray his friend like that? Would signing Trey to the label be a good business move?

Chapter V will have "greats" Features

Trey Songz is concocting an all-star lineup for his forthcoming album 'Chapter 5,' as he shouted out several big names in a recent interview.

"I got a record with Tip on there," Trey told Power 99’s Morning show on Friday (May 11). "Shout out to [Lil] Wayne, Big Sean, J. Cole, Kelly Rowland as well. A lot of great features thus far and I’m still recording."

Songz called into the radio station with his mother, April Tucker, whom also had good things to say about Kelly Rowland being featured in her son’s latest music video, "Heart Attack," as well as him being a "Mama’s boy."

"I think they look very cute," April says about Trey and Kelly Rowland. "I was on set and she’s very sweet and they have amazing chemistry in front of the camera, but they’re good friends. I like her though, she’s a sweetheart."

With Mother’s Day literally around the corner, April says her son is his own man, but he’s also a mama’s boy.

"He’s a mama’s boy, but he’s his own man at the same time," she adds. "I think that’s the best combination. He has great reverence and respect for me, but he still comes home and lays his head across my lap when it’s time to watch TV."

Songz’s Chapter 5 album is scheduled to arrive this summer.

Trey talks about being relevant, fame and success

Mr. Steal Your Girl, aka Trey Songz, realizes the all too true fact that you can be a chart-topping artist today and a struggling act the next. Answering a few tough questions while in Las Vegas over the weekend, Songz is grateful he hasn’t “blown it” so far.
“One day, you can be hot. One day, you can be nobody, if you don’t pay attention and focus on what’s really going on,” says Songz. “The blessing in my career was not to be supersuccessful instantaneously.”
According to Trey Songz, if success had been meteoric, as it has been for some acts, he might have blown what was handed to him.
“At a young age, if you get it too fast, it’s like people who hit the lottery — they blow it,” Songz tells the Las Vegas Journal. “There’s nothing that can prepare you for what being a star is. I got to learn at an escalating scale. It’s not a sprint, man. It’s a marathon. I want to be around when everybody else is tired. That means learning.”
Trey Songz is currently touring North America on the Anticipation tour with special guests have included J. Cole and Big Sean.

Trey Songz got some help from his friends when his “Anticipation 2our” rolled through L.A.’s Nokia Theatre last night. Following Big Sean’s opening act, Trigga brought out J. Cole to perform “Can’t Get Enough” and was joined on stage by Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo. The ladies went wild when he unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his toned abs while performing his sexy jams.
In between shows, Trey has been recording his fifth album Chapter 5. “I think the new album will reflect very much where I’m going as a person and what I’ve been through,” he told VMAN.
